Details that allow a concept to be as pared back as it is luxurious – minimal and covetable in equal measure. Mastering the balance between refined and innovative and highlighting the significance of those seemingly understated details are two industry leaders who collaborated earlier this week for the anticipated REDKEN Reveal in the lead up to MBFWA 2016.

At an intimate and exclusive unveiling, celebrated designer Dion Lee and REDKEN Global Artist – Richard Kavanagh previewed a version of the Hair Look that will be featured during MBFWA 2016 and showcased a glimpse of Lee’s highly anticipated Resort Collection.

Enveloped in polished structure and subdued precision, Kavanagh created an athletic, androgynous mood, inspired by Lee’s distinctive utilitarian aesthetic and signature detailing.
With a subtle nod to the '90s, the look was characteristically effortless and dependably in control, reinstating an air of minimalistic ease while folding in elements of soft structure and wearable texture.

The arresting ponytail was created with star REDKEN products including Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam, Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine and new Tripe Take 32 Extreme High-Hold Hairspray featuring a unique tri-mist diffusion system. REDKEN 5TH AVENUE NYC enters its ninth consecutive year in 2016 as the Official Hair Partner of MBFWA with a team of revered Hair Directors and 60+ dedicated backstage Session Stylists.
